Inside (21-Feb-2008)

I was going to post one of the poems that I had written to my love but I saw a request on Poefusion via the Poets Who Blog site for attempts at a modern form called a Pleiades. Never one to shirk a challenge, I found it easier than I thought and am actually rather pleased with the result.

Inside

if you knock at my door
it will not be in vain
i will stand there within
inconsoled and in pain
intensely intriguing
incompletely insane
immutably unreal

You did a great job on this. I haven't tried it yet myself. Glad you found the prompt helpful.

Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy "assignments" since they help me experiment and break out of what become ruts. I look forward to doing more of this in the future.

First let me say this is a wonderful attempt at the Pleiades form. I have to wonder where all the pain came from. A girlfriend? A death? Really nice job with this form. Thanks for giving it a try. And, welcome to Poefusion. Hope to see you there again. Have a nice night. I am soon to be off watching Lost. Love that show.

Yes, the pain comes from a girlfriend...now an ex-girlfriend. For the full context you can look at earlier poems here or my other blogs. Suffice it to say that getting dumped by email on Valentine's Day generates a fair amount of pain.
