Consciousness (Aug-1993)

I might as well post the whole series that I started yesterday. Here is the second of the trilogy.

I stood on the beach and watched
the Creation of the earth.
But then I came under a great sleep
and All was darkness.
When I awoke, all I could remember was
the Emptiness of the void.
But now I realize that I did not
watch alone nor slumber in solitude.
For we were a family and now we are
scattered to the four corners.
I do not know our number but we are
not Alone.
I have met my sister and her name
is Death.

the spectrum is definitely widening.. not your typical creation account... very interesting perspective... more more more...

Oh WOW! I have no words. Strange, for me, I know. Only this: It is phenomenal and I am slightly envious at having not composed it myself.

You are all too kind...and have left me speechless. If you liked in then by all means read the others series. They are all tagged the same.

This series is really, really good. 'Consciousness' is still my favorite installment, but it was a grand experience to read them all in context together. Thank you!

While I know that, intellectually, "Consciousness" is the best of the set, there is something about "To Sleep" that has always felt more personal to me and remains my favorite of these. Let me again say thank you for the kind words on this series. Maybe someday there will be more but that is up to fate.
